The Full Review
I bought the Spirit II E-210 as my 'deck grill' — the one that lives three steps from my kitchen for quick weeknight cooks. And honestly, it's become my most-used grill.
The GS4 system (Infinity Ignition, burners, Flavorizer bars, grease management) is the same technology Weber uses in their more expensive Genesis line. You're getting legitimately good engineering at a budget price.
The two burners produce 26,500 BTUs across 360 square inches. That's enough for 8-10 burgers, a couple of steaks, or a spatchcocked chicken. For a family of 2-4, you'll rarely feel limited.
Two-zone cooking is possible but tight. With one burner on high and one off, you have a small direct zone and a small indirect zone. It works for reverse-searing steaks but you won't be doing low-and-slow smoking here — that's not what this grill is for.
The porcelain-enameled cast iron grates hold heat beautifully and produce excellent sear marks. They're the same grates you'd find on the Spirit E-310, just fewer of them.
Assembly took about 40 minutes. Weber's instructions are among the best in the industry — clear diagrams, logical sequence, and everything actually fits together without forcing.
How Does It Compare?
At a glance against its closest gas grill rivals.
| Grill | Rating | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weber Spirit II E-210 (this) | 4.4 | $369 | The best gas grill under $400. |
| Char-Broil Performance TRU-Infrared 3-Burner | 4.3 | $369 | Infrared technology at a budget price — no flare-ups, even heat, and juicier results than conventional burners. |
| Weber Spirit E-310 | 4.5 | $449 | The undisputed king of entry-level, full-size gas grills. |
Who Is It For?
Apartment and condo dwellers with limited patio space. Couples who don't need to cook for crowds. Budget-conscious buyers who want Weber quality without the Weber Genesis price tag.
Final Verdict
The Spirit II E-210 at $369 is the best gas grill under $400, period. You're getting 90% of what makes Weber great at 60% of the Genesis price. If your cooking needs are modest, this is the move.
