Wood & Fuel
Wood Pellets
Compressed sawdust pellets used as fuel in pellet grills — different woods produce different smoke flavors.
Pellets are made from compressed hardwood sawdust held together by lignin (no glue). Quality matters: 100% hardwood pellets burn cleaner and produce better smoke than cheap blended pellets. Common woods: hickory (strong, classic BBQ), oak (medium, neutral), apple (mild, sweet), cherry (mild, color-boosting), mesquite (intense, divisive).
