The Full Review
The Pro 575 replaced the older Pro 34, and the improvements are substantial. The D2 Direct Drive drivetrain heats up faster, produces more smoke at lower temps, and maintains temperature more consistently than the previous generation.
Setup and first cook were genuinely easy. Assemble (about an hour), plug in, fill the hopper, run the initial burn-in cycle, and you're cooking. The WiFIRE app walks you through everything and lets you adjust temperature from your phone.
I ran this grill through a 14-hour brisket cook. Set it to 225°F before bed, monitored from my phone, wrapped at the stall, and pulled a near-perfect brisket the next morning. The temperature held within ±15°F all night — that's excellent for this price point.
The 575 sq in of grate space comfortably fits a full packer brisket, two racks of ribs, or about 24 burgers. The porcelain grates clean up easily.
The Traeger app is the best in the pellet grill industry. It includes hundreds of recipes with step-by-step instructions, community posts, and direct temperature/timer control. It turns a complex cooking tool into something a complete beginner can use confidently.
Where the Pro 575 falls short is searing. Max temp is 500°F — adequate for burgers and chicken, but not enough for a steakhouse-quality crust. You'll want a cast iron skillet or a dedicated searing solution for steaks.
How Does It Compare?
At a glance against its closest pellet grill rivals.
| Grill | Rating | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Traeger Pro 575 (this) | 4.5 | $799 | Traeger's best-selling pellet grill for good reason — WiFIRE connectivity, 575 sq in of space, and dead-simple operation. |
| Grilla Grills Silverbac Alpha | 4.7 | $799 | The under-the-radar Silverbac wood pellet grill cult forums love. |
| Louisiana Grills Black Label 1000 | 4.5 | $799 | Costco's house pellet grill brand delivers serious competition to Traeger — with a massive 1,000 sq in cooking area. |
Who Is It For?
First-time pellet grill buyers who want the most popular, well-supported option. Set-it-and-forget-it cooks who want phone monitoring. Families who want restaurant-quality smoked food without the learning curve.
Final Verdict
The Traeger Pro 575 at $799 is the Honda Civic of pellet grills — reliable, well-built, and it just works. It's not the cheapest or the most feature-rich, but it's the safest choice for anyone entering the pellet grill world.
